About this site
This blog is dedicated to the random, crazy things my husband is involved in. His many unpredictable purchases and immediate resale of the items make great stories and even better pictures. This is a POSITIVE blog. No negativity here! I love my crazy husband. If you have a crazy husband that you adore, share your stories with me!

September 5th was our 3rd marriage anniversary.
My crazy husband Jason and I met on yahoo personals in 2007. It was true love, friendship, respect, trust and curiosity at first sight for both of us. We had our first date on a Thursday and our second date two days later. It was on the second date that he presented me with a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne and asked me to marry him. No joke. His actual words were "Where have you been for the last 10 years. I have been waiting and now you are here and I am not going to let any other guy have a chance to take you away from me. Marry me". Oddly enough, I pondered the proposal and shockingly said "Okay"!
We eloped to Lake Tahoe 10 days later. We were married on a Wednesday in Emerald Bay near a waterfall by the captain of the boat that took us there. Just me, Jason and Captain Harley. Through everything over the past three years, my absolutely crazy husband and I have never regretted one of the craziest things either one of us had ever done. I had a very good idea of who I was marrying by the time I said "I do". I knew he was a crazy nut when I walked into his (our) house for the first time. He had an entire room dedicated to Coors Light complete with at least a hundred metal and neon signs, a pool table, a big breasted mannequin dressed in a bathing suit and a kegerator. Who the heck has a kegerator inside their house? There was a bathroom completely dedicated to the Incredible Hulk, a living room collection of Jack Skellington figurines and a huge ugly Rat Fink statue in his garage that we was selling. All I knew at this point was that I was dealing with a very dedicated and driven individual who loved his stuff. He not only loved his stuff, he really loves everyone else's stuff too. He buys things from craigslist and ebay and then resells the items for much more than what he paid. Hence, he is making a profit with every transaction. I can't really say anything about any of his purchases because most of them are profitable. Some of them much more profitable than others!
Now it is three years later. The marriage is rock solid. We have 3 children from our previous marriages and they see each other as brother and sister. Last October we had a beautiful baby girl. Everything seems to be working out, which is fantastic because if this marriage had crashed and burned I would really be wearing egg on my face!

Do You Have Anything Like This In Your House?
While sitting in the backyard this afternoon I thought it would be a good idea to get a detailed photo gallery of Jason’s treasures. The shark in the picture is 8 feet long and hangs on our patio.

My crazy husband Jason is known for buying and selling pool slides, especially during the summer months. He has actually sold this particular slide (pictured above) not just once but twice.
Jason originally bought the slide for $200 on craigslist. He was so proud of his most recent find, bragging to me that it was 12 feet tall - one of the tallest pool slides made. He went on and on about how people will be looking for this type of slide and will pay top dollar because they are not generally easy to find - and who wouldn't want a huge slide for their pool time adventures?
All I could see was a huge blue slide taking up room in my back yard. I was having trouble seeing the value in this item.
He picked it up, handed over $200 cash, came home and relisted it immediately. A production company called about 30 minutes after it had been listed. The guy he sold it to was so excited to have found this slide because he had been searching for one just like this for weeks. It sold for $600 to the production company that day. That was a $400 profit! The sale transaction included a deal. If the production company did not need it after they completed their film shoot, they would sell it back to my husband for $200.
About a week passed after the first transaction. My husband contacted the buyer of the slide and asked if they were done with it and ready to sell it back to him. The guys who bought it were more than happy to stick to the deal and sell it back to him for $200. However, the slide that my husband picked up from the buyer was a much different slide than the one that he had sold them. The slide had been completely refurbished, patched, sanded, painted and looked just like brand new.
Jason listed the slide for sale again but this time the price was $800. He immediately got calls and ultimately ended up selling it for $750. That was a $550 profit.
All in all, my crazy (yet brilliant and handsome) husband made $950 from picking up a slide twice and listing it on craigslist.
Kind of hard to complain about that - you know?
