September 5th was our 3rd marriage anniversary.
My crazy husband Jason and I met on yahoo personals in 2007. It was true love, friendship, respect, trust and curiosity at first sight for both of us. We had our first date on a Thursday and our second date two days later. It was on the second date that he presented me with a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne and asked me to marry him. No joke. His actual words were "Where have you been for the last 10 years. I have been waiting and now you are here and I am not going to let any other guy have a chance to take you away from me. Marry me". Oddly enough, I pondered the proposal and shockingly said "Okay"!
We eloped to Lake Tahoe 10 days later. We were married on a Wednesday in Emerald Bay near a waterfall by the captain of the boat that took us there. Just me, Jason and Captain Harley. Through everything over the past three years, my absolutely crazy husband and I have never regretted one of the craziest things either one of us had ever done. I had a very good idea of who I was marrying by the time I said "I do". I knew he was a crazy nut when I walked into his (our) house for the first time. He had an entire room dedicated to Coors Light complete with at least a hundred metal and neon signs, a pool table, a big breasted mannequin dressed in a bathing suit and a kegerator. Who the heck has a kegerator inside their house? There was a bathroom completely dedicated to the Incredible Hulk, a living room collection of Jack Skellington figurines and a huge ugly Rat Fink statue in his garage that we was selling. All I knew at this point was that I was dealing with a very dedicated and driven individual who loved his stuff. He not only loved his stuff, he really loves everyone else's stuff too. He buys things from craigslist and ebay and then resells the items for much more than what he paid. Hence, he is making a profit with every transaction. I can't really say anything about any of his purchases because most of them are profitable. Some of them much more profitable than others!
Now it is three years later. The marriage is rock solid. We have 3 children from our previous marriages and they see each other as brother and sister. Last October we had a beautiful baby girl. Everything seems to be working out, which is fantastic because if this marriage had crashed and burned I would really be wearing egg on my face!
